This year we have been working on some new Steampunk designs to feature on my daughter's new hat shop website www.arcadehatters.co.uk/steam With Christmas approaching, if you know someone who loves Steampunk, and you are looking for a gift that is a little bit different, come check out our hats, or even order one in your perfect size, colour, and accessory combination. If you would like to order one for Christmas please let us know as soon as possible. We have had a lot of fun creating these designs, all of which have hand stitched decorations, and all of which are bespoke one-off pieces. Bespoke Hats for Hire in 2018 After several years of being asked to hire our hats we have finally decided to go ahead and offer this service. All our hats are made for clients, we design according to their needs, choosing the right colour, hat shape and style of decoration but from early Spring onwards the shop is filled with our sample hats, it is these with a few extra we are going to offer for hiring. At the moment we are working very hard in our small workshop creating new designs for Spring/Summer next year. As soon as they are complete we will be placing them on a new website and also on our current website:  www.adriennehenrymillinery.co.uk  . Our hats are suitable for both 'Mother of the Bride', 'Mother of the Groom', A Day at the Races, Royal Ascot, weddings and many more special occasions. Prices will start from £60 for a week. They will be available to hire in the shop in Reading and online.

Hats for Hire A lady who is going to Royal Ascot visited the shop today and asked if I hire hats. After a short chat with her after she tried on one of our Baby CoCo hats, as it looked beautiful on her a quick decision of hiring the hat was made. We are now offering all our sample hats either for sale or hire. Within the next few days they will be listed on our sister website, www.arcadehatters.co.uk . Prices will range from £60 to £150 for a week's hire. All these hats are designed for weddings, days at the races and other special occasions. Each one is bespoke. Hats & Headpieces for Special Occasions  Today has been quite a strange day but as all was not quite normal in the shop I decided to have some fun and design a totally unique headpiece. Poppies are so beautiful that they have inspired me to make this hat. I am not sure which flower I will create next! The base of the headpiece is a cocktail hat. There is a layer of red netting beneath the feathers which have been cut to represent the petals of the poppy. This is perfect for a special occasion for example a Day at the Races, Royal Ascot. Our New look website It's all very exciting at the moment as we are busy making all our new hats. At the same time as preparing our new hats for the upcoming photoshoot with Tony Free, our in house photographer, we are also updating our website. Tony is undertaking this as well. I can certainly recommend a photographer who can also help with the website is a great way forward. This perchher style hat will be available to order on our website soon. An elegant fascinator for a Mother of the Bride It is always great when we have feathers the exact colour of a dress. Our client was very pleased when she collected her order from us a few days ago. This fascinator was made using feathers which we have cut to make a very striking effect. We are able to make this design to the size the client wants and we have a selection of many different colours. One of our workshops, learn how to make an elegant fascinator.  Last Saturday I held a fascinator workshop for two delightful ladies. It is Freda's birthday this week and the workshop was a birthday present from her daughter-in-law.Both ladies worked very hard and were delighted with their fascinators. 'Gone With The Wind' A classic hat named after the film 'Gone With The Wind'. This name was given by a visitor to Windsor Castle where my hats were on display when I gave a talk about millinery in conjunction with the curator of the Queen's clothes exhibition last December. The brim is covered with small black roses, the decoration around the crown is a black silk band and delicate bow. Finally part of our new collection has been photographed. Soon to be on our website! Hats for Special Occasions - Ladies Day at Royal Ascot Today we had a product photo shoot in the shop and it made me reminisce about part of the collection from last year.  This hat was worn at Royal Ascot last year and was apparently admired by many thus making the owner very excited and even more pleased with her hat. My Husband Richard Henry is often referred to as my apprentice milliner. As the Spring/Summer collection of hats are being designed at the moment his help with blocking hats is invaluable. Without his assistance I would not be able to complete hat orders as quickly as we do. He has an excellent knowledge of hats and often looks after the shop on his own.
